It's official - the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor! This is apparently confirmed by Xiaomi's co-founder and Senior Vice President Liwan Jiang who shared the details on his Weibo. Jiang also states that mass production of the Mi 5 has already begun so that there will be sufficient stocks for the launch after Chinese New Year.

Some of the rumored specs include a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, 4GB RAM, an ultra-thin chassis of 5.1mm, a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a USB Type-C port. Mobile photography is said to be a major focus for the Mi 5 although there are conflicting reports on the camera hardware.
