Xiaomi to Hold Product Launch Event on July 22, Hints at Steel Metal Device
Bin Lin, co-founder and President of Xiaomi, announced on his Facebook Page that the company is holding its annual product launch event on July 22. The event poster suggests that Xiaomi is unveiling a product made from a piece of steel metal.
Xiaomi is holding its annual product launch event on July 22 in Beijing and it is teasing a product made from a piece of steel metal.
Bin Lin, the co-founder and President of Xiaomi made the announcement on his Facebook Page a few minutes ago. The event will revolve around the story about "The journey of a piece of steel metal".
Based on the event poster, it is highly likely that Xiaomi will be unveiling the Mi 4 smartphone. A photo of an alleged front panel of the device surfaced on the Internet a few days ago which shows off its ultra-slim bezels. You also can expect the company to launch the Mi 3S, which has been reported as early as May.
To date, all its smartphones are clad in plastic to keep costs to a minimum. If Xiaomi really adopts the use of metal, it may pose a challenge for the company to balance between build quality and cost.
