Budget phone lovers, rejoice. Xiaomi is bringing the Redmi 9 to Singapore!
Redmi phones typically wow the crowd with jaw-dropping specs and features at a very palatable price point. For Xiaomi's Redmi 9, it's the quad rear camera configuration (13MP main, 8MP ultra-wide angle, 5MP macro, 2MP depth sensor) and the massive 5,020mAh battery that supports up to 18W wired fast-charging.
Xiaomi's latest entry-level Android 10 smartphone also comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution) display with 400-nits brightness, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio, making it an all-rounder phone for web and social media browsing and online video watching. Within lies a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, which Xiaomi found that it offered 207% improved performance over its predecessor.
Other features include a fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, NFC compatibility, and dedicated slots for dual nano-SIM cards and a microSD card (expandable up to 512GB).
Pricing and availability
The Xiaomi Redmi 9 (4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage) retails at S$218 and will arrive at offline and online retail outlets on 10 July 2020. Singtel, other authorised Mi Stores, and various retailers in Singapore will carry the device in physical stores. You can also find the Redmi 9 online at the official Xiaomi storefront on Lazada, Shopee, and Qoo10. The phone will be available in three colours - Carbon Grey, Ocean Green, and Sunset Purple.
