WhatsApp may soon allow you to migrate chat history to another phone number

WhatsApp may soon allow users to migrate their chat history to a different phone number. 

Wabetainfo noticed the new feature in the latest screenshot of a beta version where there is an option to transfer the chat history to a different number. In addition, the transfer of chat history will only happen when the user link a new phone to the WhatsApp account. Put simply, users cannot transfer the chat history at a later time if they skip this step during the setting up process.

Earlier in April, wabetainfo reported that WhatsApp is testing chat history migration between iOS and Android phones. It remains to be seen when WhatsApp will roll out these new features.
