NVIDIA labels devices powered by its quad-core Tegra 3 processor as "super" devices. Rumors surrounding quad-core smartphones have been around, but at CES 2012, we finally sighted a working unit from Fujitsu.

The Fujitsu smartphone, which hasn't been given a model number or even a code name just yet, sports an impressive specifications list. This includes:

  • NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 1.2GHz processor

  • 4.6-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels

  • 13.1-megapixel camera with ISO value of 25600

  • LTE-ready

  • Waterproof and dustproof

Unfortunately, the prototype was locked tight and far from our prying hands. However, we did get a sense of the quad-core processor's speed through a game, and we noticed how the additional graphics effect such as water droplets won't create any lag in its performance.

Like most Fujitsu smartphones, the quad-core Fujitsu device will be available in Japan only, and according to a spokesperson, it will be offered with NTT Docomo. The device is slated for a Q2 2012 availability, with pricing details unknown at this point in time.
