The switch to USB-C on the iPhone 15 opens up a wide range of use cases, such as connecting to thumb drives, fast external storage, 4K displays and microphones.

One important use case briefly mentioned during the Wonderlust event is the ability to charge the Apple Watch or AirPods from the iPhone 15.

While Apple states that the bundled USB-C charging cable is compatible with the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe charging case (USB-C), we believe the Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to Lightning cable can also be used to charge the Apple Watch and older AirPods models.

At the moment, it is not clear on the charging rate provided by the USB-C port on the iPhone 15. We'll provide an update when we get our hands on the iPhone 15 for a review.
