Two top execs left the Pixel team after disappointing launch of the Pixel 4
Disappointing sales of the Pixel 4 and the lack of enthusiasm for the device from the leadership reportedly led to two key executives leaving the Pixel team.

The Google Pixel team lost two key members in less than a year according to The Information.
Mario Queiroz, the general manager of the Google Pixel team, left two months before the launch of the Pixel 4 for a role that reports directly to CEO Sundar Pichai. Queiroz led the Pixel team from the beginning and played a role in the launch of the first Google phone, the Nexus One in 2010. Marc Levoy, who led the team to develop the computational photography for the Pixel phones, left Google in March.
The Information claims that the Pixel 4 lineup is not selling well and there is apparently a lack of enthusiasm for the phones from the leadership. Key Google executives reportedly shared their criticisms of the phones during an all-hands meeting prior to the launch. Google's hardware lead, Rick Osterloh did not agree with some of the decisions made about the Pixel 4 such as the small battery capacity, design and specs.
It is unclear at the moment how the departure of these two executives will affect the launch of the Pixel 4a in June and Pixel 5 in October.
