The mass production of the Apple iPhone 14 is unlikely to be affected significantly by supply chain issues according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo shared in a series of tweets that Apple is currently experiencing supply issues with the display and memory components. However, he claims there is "limited impact" on the mass production of the Apple iPhone 14 as other suppliers are able to "fill the supply gap".

LG Display, which reportedly supplies the panels for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, encountered some issues with the display panels. For now, Samsung and BOE are expected to step in to fill the initial gap. Kuo thinks LG Display will not take too long to address the issues.

Micron and SK Hynix are only able to ship the memory components in Q4. Micron's certification schedule is said to start later while SK Hynix ran into quality issues. At the moment, Samsung will ramp up supply on its own and be the main supplier.

Nikkei Asia reported in May that the iPhone 14 development schedule is behind schedule due to the Covid-19 lockdowns in China. The worst-case scenario could see the manufacturing schedule and initial production volumes of the phones being affected.

Apple is rumoured to be launching four iPhone 14 models in September.
