SugarSync Expands Partnership with Samsung, Ships on AllShare Play-Enabled Devices

SugarSync, a free cloud storage service provider that allows you to access your files across all your computer and mobile devices, today announced that it has expanded its existing partnership with Samsung and will starting shipping on all Samsung mobile devices sporting the AllShare Play service. The Samsung Galaxy S III is the first Samsung mobile device to come preloaded with SugarSync. 

Samsung's AllShare Play service allows you to search for and play multimedia content freely across AllShare Play-enabled devices such as PCs, TVs, and mobile devices. By further integrating SugarSync into its AllShare Play service, any AllShare Play user who does not have an account can easily sign up for a free one with 5GB storage space from within AllShare Play. 

"Expanding our relationship with Samsung to be integrated into their mobile devices is a natural progression, as this will give Samsung mobile users a way of sharing content via the SugarSync Cloud across multiple devices from within AllShare Play," said Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync.

When Samsung launched the Galaxy S III in May, it also announced a partnership with Dropbox to provide two years of 50GB storage space (inclusive of the free 2GB space with each free account sign-up). The tie-ups with two popular cloud storage services may indicate the start of a grand plan by Samsung to create a tightly integrated ecosystem similar to Apple iTunes and iCloud.
