The Sony Xperia Z1 F first appeared in a leaked NTT DoCoMo document two months ago. Now, the device is official as the handset is available from Japan's NTT DoCoMo stores. As expected, the Xperia Z1 F is a 4.3-inch variant of the flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1.

Despite being a mini variant, the Xperia Z1 F comes with similar specs such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, IP55/IP58 dust and water resistance, and the 20-megapixel rear camera with G Lens.

Its display has a lower resolution at 1,280 x 720 pixels, and its battery capacity is 2,300mAh. The smaller form factor also measures 127 x 65 x 9.4mm, and weighs 140g.

An international model, the Xperia Z1 S is expected to be announced at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 next month.
