Sony Ericsson Presents Two Android Smartphones

SINGAPORE - Sony Ericsson today announced the launch of two new Android smartphones. Xperia active, a compact smartphone for consumers with an active lifestyle, and Live with Walkman, an Android smartphone that delivers a unique music experience.
Sony Ericsson Xperia active
Running on the latest Android platform (Gingerbread 2.3), Xperia active is a tough Android smartphone for an active life. Dust proof and water resistant, this phone uniquely incorporates wet finger tracking, to ensure the phone works perfectly when either the screen or a user’s fingers are wet. The phone also packs Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a 5mp camera with HD video functionality, and a powerful 1Ghz processor.
Pre-loaded with sports apps that enable consumers to easily track their fitness levels, users can set their ideal training route using the built-in GPS, Barometer and Compass. In addition, on-screen heart rate and pulse can be monitored in real-time (enabled by ANT+ wireless networking technology), while the SportyPal Pro app can monitor real-time performance.
Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman
With a dedicated Walkman hardware button that provides instant access to the music player, consumers can be delighted with the music experience from this gadget that runs on the latest Android platform for smartphones (Gingerbread 2.3). They can like, share and discover content through a deep Facebook integration while the infinite button allows consumers to connect to friends, photos, music and videos.
With an attractive curved design, a glossy finish and a mineral glass display, the phone has a 3.2” screen and a powerful 1Ghz processor. A front facing camera is enabled for Skype video calling, while a 5MP AF camera can capture 720p HD video recording. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman also comes with Sony’s xLOUD that enhances audio output.
Availability and Recommended Retail Price
Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is now available in Singapore in the colours Black and White at a Recommended Retail Price of S$398 without contract.
Sony Ericsson Xperia active will be available in Singapore from 1st October 2011, in Black with Orange band, at a Recommended Retail Price of S$498 without contract.
