Samsung's new image sensor comes with Dual Pixel and ISOCELL technology

Samsung announced its latest 12-megapixel image sensor for smartphones. This image sensor seems to match the custom-made Sony sensor found in the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge with its pixel size of 1.4μm and Dual Pixel technology.
In case you missed our coverage on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Dual Pixel technology uses two photodiodes located on the left and right halves of a pixel. Each and every pixel of the Dual Pixel image sensor can detect phase differences of perceived light, resulting in faster auto-focusing.
The Samsung-made image sensor also integrates ISOCELL technology, which is used in last year's S5K3P3 16 megapixel (Mp) CMOS image sensor. Samsung's ISOCELL technology helps to reduce color crosstalk of neighboring pixels by adding physical barriers between each pixel, hence it has higher light sensitivity and more effective controlling of the collection of photons.
The 12-megapixel image sensor is already in mass production.
