The megapixel war is back in the smartphone space with Samsung announcing its 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 mobile camera sensor.
The ISOCELL Bright GW1 has the highest resolution in Samsung's 0.8μm-pixel image sensor lineup. By utilizing Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm, the GW1 mobile camera sensor can produce 16MP images in low-light conditions and highly-detailed 64MP in brighter conditions.
It also supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB) which provides richer hues. This is higher than the conventional image sensor (60dB) and is pretty close to dynamic range of the human eye (120dB).

Samsung also unveiled an updated 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM2 sensor that also utilizes Tetracell technology in low-light conditions and a remosaic algorithm in well-lit conditions.
Both mobile camera sensors are currently sampling and are expected to be in mass production in the second half of the year. Therefore, it is possible that the GW1 sensor will debut on the Galaxy Note10.
