Come and meet the next galaxy. That's the gist of the invite received by Tweakers.net, alluding to a potential announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S III on May 3rd in London. The invite is also confirmed by an anonymous Samsung employee to DDaily, but there's no confirmation on whether this will be the unveiling of the successor to Samsung's 2011 flagship model, the Samsung Galaxy S II.
The purported Galaxy S III will be loaded with a bevy of hardware updates, some of which includes a quad-core Exynos processor powering the Android 4.0 smartphone. Its display is also one of the most talked about topic, with one rumor pointing at a 4.65-inch display with a screen resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. This wouldn't be too far of a stretch, given that the first Android 4.0 smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus also comes with that particular specification.
In the months to come, LTE will also be the biggest focus for the mobile industry, with rumors of an integrated LTE chip within the Exynos processor. Though there's no specific details on the LTE frequency that'll be supported by the Galaxy S III, we believe that LTE compatibility won't be an issue.
