Samsung to unveil the Galaxy A8 in China on 17 July, tipped to cost below US$500

Nowhereelse.fr reports that Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy A8 in China on 17 July and it reportedly has a price tag of US$494. In a separate leak, Chinese site PC Online published a review of the device which contains a list of its official specs. Read on to find out more.

Samsung is having difficulties keeping its upcoming phones under wraps as more details surface about its Galaxy A8 smartphone.

According to nowhereelse.fr, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A8 in China on 17th July with a price tag of US$494 (~S$ 668). There is no word on its availability beyond the Chinese market. In a separate leak, Chinese site PC Online got hold of the model and published a review. PC Online also listed the official specs of the Galaxy A8 which include:

  • 5.7-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display 
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor 
  • 2GB RAM
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz 
  • 16GB internal storage with microSD expansion
  • 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3,050mAh battery (non-removable)
  • Fingerprint sensor integrated with the home button
  • 157.7 x 76.7 x 5.94mm
