Samsung may have applied a trademark for its next-generation foldable phone.

Spotted by Galaxy Club and LetsGoDigital, Samsung has applied for the trademark "Galaxy Z Roll" with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The trademark application also hints that the Galaxy Z Roll may support the S Pen.

Samsung's existing foldable phones come with the "Galaxy Z" moniker, hence it is likely that the Galaxy Z Roll is referring to an upcoming foldable phone.

The South Korean company recently showcased a new range of foldable displays which include a S-Foldable OLED panel, a slidable OLED panel and a 17-inch foldable panel.

Samsung Display published sketches on its blog in November 2020 showing a device with a tri-folding display and a device with a rollable display. It confirmed in January that it is developing rollable and slidable displays.
