Samsung’s decision to focus on foldable phones has paid off.

Compared to 2020, Samsung managed to ship four times more foldable phones in 2021. In addition, the first-month sales of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 exceeded total cumulative sales of its foldable devices in 2020.

Samsung added that the Galaxy Z Flip3 attracted 150% more switchers than the Galaxy Note20. Compared to the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy Z Flip3 attracted 140% more switchers. The company believes its foldable phones have unique features that appeal to specific customer groups that no other phone brands currently offer.

Samsung says it will continue to lead the foldable space with more innovative technologies by investing heavily in R&D, and collaborating with app developers and industry partners such as Google.
