Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10+ now tops DxOMark’s mobile camera rankings

Are you a Samsung fan and believe in DxOMark? If so, good news: the independent image quality benchmarking site has just given top marks to the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G for both its main and selfie cameras.

With an overall score of 113 for the main (rear) camera, the Note 10+ is now ranked first in the chart, 1 point ahead of Huawei’s P30 Pro.

Delving deeper, you’ll find that the Note 10+ achieves 118 and 101 for the Photo and Video sub-scores. The former is actually a point lower than the P30 Pro’s 119, and that’s mainly because the Huawei flagship has a 5x optical zoom. Other than that, DxOMark rates the Note 10+ higher in terms of exposure, colours, artefacts, and bokeh performance.

The Note 10+’s 101 Video sub-score is also the highest ever. DxOMark says the phone offers fast and accurate video autofocus, packs high levels of detail in its 4K videos, and has an effective stabilisation system.

DxOMark:

It’s a solid all-rounder, with excellent still image and video quality in most lighting conditions. The Note 10+ 5G’s combination of excellent exposure, color, detail and bokeh for stills, together with excellent all round video, means that it steals the top-spot spoils from the Huawei P30 Pro for now.

For the selfie camera, the Note 10+ has dethroned ASUS’ ZenFone 6 to claim top spot. With “excellent still image and video quality across all shooting and light condition”, DxOMark says the Note 10’s front camera is now “the new reference for selfie shooters.”

For what it’s worth, while DxOMark has only scored the Note 10+ 5G, the ratings should apply to the non–5G version as well as the regular Note 10. All the models has the same selfie camera module, though the Note 10 does lack its bigger sibling’s ToF sensor.
