Google might not be the default search engine on Samsung's Galaxy devices in the future.

According to The New York Times, Samsung is currently in talks with Microsoft to switch to Bing as the default search engine on its Galaxy devices. The decision is said to be prompted by the AI features offered by Bing and this led Google into "panic" mode.

Google is said to be scrambling to develop a new search engine powered by AI, which would deliver a more personalised user experience than the current service. In addition, the company is also improving the current search engine with AI features.

The New York Times estimates that $3 billion in annual revenue is at stake with the Samsung contract. Google reportedly paid up to $20 billion last year for Apple to be the default Safari search engine.
