Samsung may not be including chargers for some of its phones starting next year.
According to Korean news site ETNews, Samsung is removing the charger from the retail box as consumers already have chargers and it can help to reduce costs. In addition, the retail box of phone can be more compact without a charger and is more environmentally friendly.
Samsung typically ships fast chargers with its flagship phones, which customers appreciate as these chargers are more expensive. Having said that, it is likely that Samsung may remove the chargers from its entry and/or mid-range smartphone models first to gauge customers' responses. Apple is also rumoured to be making a similar move with the iPhone 12 later this year.
