Samsung’s One UI 6.1 update adds Galaxy AI features to more smartphones
AI features like Live Translate during phone calls are no longer limited to the Samsung Galaxy S24 phones; find what other phones benefit, and we've even tested it out personally on one of them
Samsung Galaxy AI goes to more Galaxy devices.
Samsung has rolled out the One UI 6.1 firmware update for its Galaxy phones. The update introduces some of the Galaxy AI features to older Galaxy handsets, bringing its AI perks to Samsung phones beyond the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
Currently, One UI 6.1 brings Galaxy AI to the following Samsung devices:
- Galaxy S23 series (Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra)
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy Z Flip5
- Galaxy Z Fold5
The One UI 6.1 update would also go to tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series from 5 April 2024 onwards. We tried it personally on an S23 and it works like a charm:-
The full suite of Galaxy AI features appears to be available for these updated devices. That includes Note Assist for better note-taking, Generative Edit for photos, Chat Assist for better messaging tonality, Live Translate for phone calls, and more.

For Samsung users, simply enter your system Settings app to start downloading and installing the firmware update. As a friendly reminder, be wary of stuff downloaded from unofficial or unknown sources.
