Samsung has no anticipated launch date for the Galaxy Fold

Samsung will also cancel unconfirmed Galaxy Fold orders in the U.S if it cannot ship the device by 31 May.

More than two weeks after postponing the launch of the Galaxy Fold, Samsung says it cannot confirm the shipping date for the device.

In an email sent to U.S customers who have pre-ordered the Galaxy Fold, Samsung offered its apology and informed them that their pre-orders will be "canceled automatically" if the company is unable to ship the device by 31 May and if it does not hear from them.

In a separate email to Reuters, a Samsung spokesperson confirmed that the email was indeed sent to customers as required by U.S regulations.

The retail launch of the Galaxy Fold was delayed on 23 April after several reviewers reported display issues in just 48 hours. iFixit, which managed to get hold of a unit, did a teardown of the Galaxy Fold and shared  that it might have found the reason for the display issues. However, iFixit took down the teardown article at Samsung's request.

Samsung plans to announce the release date in the coming weeks and is taking measures to strengthen the display protection.
