Future foldable phones from other OEMs will come with a split screen mode that Samsung introduced on its Galaxy Z Flip.

Dubbed Flex mode by Samsung, the feature divides the display into two four-inch screens that show different types of content while using an app. Google says the split-screen feature will be made available to other OEMs “soon”.

Samsung shared during its Galaxy Unpacked event that it had worked with Google to develop Split mode for the Galaxy Z Flip. It allows the user to view a YouTube video on the top half of the screen while reading comments on the bottom screen. This has potential to take multitasking on a phone to the next level.
