Samsung Galaxy S23 confirmed to use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2

Corning has confirmed one feature on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23. 

In a news release, Corning announced Samsung will be using its Gorilla Glass Victus 2 as part of the next generation of Galaxy flagship phones. Senior executives from both companies also shared that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy flagship phones will be the first devices to use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Corning unveiled the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 in November 2022, which is stated to have improved drop performance on rough surfaces like concrete. In its lab tests, Corning says the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 survived drops of up to 1m on a concrete-like surface.

Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy S23 at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 2 Feb, 2am (SGT). The official specs sheet and purported retail prices of the Galaxy S23 models have been leaked extensively over the past week.
