Samsung's Galaxy S20 Ultra could have as much as 16GB of RAM
16GB of RAM would be just ridiculous.
We're less than a month away from the launch of Samsung's Galaxy S20 smartphone, and we already know quite a bit about the phone, such as the rumoured under-display fingerprint scanner and 120Hz display. There are expected to be a few variants of the phone, including a super high-end Ultra model that will be kitted with the best possible specifications. What exactly does that mean? If XDA's Max Weinbach is to be believed, the Ultra could have as much as 16GB of RAM – as much as a desktop gaming PC – and a 108-megapixel main camera that uses Samsung's crazy image sensor.
16GB of RAM is even more than some PCs have, and it's no doubt overkill for a smartphone. That said, if Samsung is looking to market the phone for its top-of-the-line specifications, this is certainly one way to do it. At the very least, you probably don't have to worry about any background apps closing.
A separate leak says that the 108-megapixel camera will be paired with a 48-megapixel secondary camera with 10x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. Elsewhere, there's thought to be up to 512GB of storage and a microSD card slot for up to 1TB of expandable storage.
On top of that, Weinbach tweeted that there will be a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, capable of going from zero to 100 per cent in 74 minutes.
The Ultra looks like it will be a step up from even the S10+, and it could appeal to power users who just want to have the most capable phone available.
