Samsung Galaxy S II Not Getting ICS Update on 10th March

Contrary to an earlier news posting on Samsung's Philippines site, the Korean company has sent a Twitter update, stating that it won't be pushing the Android 4.0 update to the Samsung Galaxy S II on 10th March.

For those of you who've heard about an Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II on March 10th, we have some bad news for you - it isn't true.

According to The Next Web, Samsung Philippines originally had a news announcement stating that the update would begin seeding on March 10, along with a FAQ about the Android 4.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Hours later, the Korean company sent out an update from its Samsung Tomorrow Twitter account to refute that news. Through the help of Google Translate, it was noted that the March 10 news was not true.

The tweet also mentioned that once the upgrade schedule is confirmed, there will be further updates sent out via Twitter. Fortunately, it might not be such a long wait. A company spokesperson informed The Next Web that the update will roll out “soon” and that “specific models upgradable to ICS will vary by market.”
