Samsung to counter Apple's new 4-inch iPhone with a 4.6-inch Galaxy S7 mini?

Samsung may be releasing a 4.6-inch variant of the Galaxy S7 to counter Apple's upcoming 4-inch iPhone SE.

With Apple rumored to launch a new 4-inch iPhone model next week, Samsung is said to be preparing a counterattack on the iPhone maker.

According to a rumor from Taiwan, Samsung is planning to launch a 4.6-inch variant of the Galaxy S7 to compete with Apple's 4-inch iPhone model. Known as the Galaxy S7 mini, the smartphone is likely to sport a 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, a 12-megapixel rear camera with 3x optical zoom and a 9.9mm thin chassis.

This isn't the first time that Samsung is rumored to be launching a mini variant of its flagship smartphones. It has done so for the Galaxy S3, S4 and S5 although there was a photo of a working Galaxy S6 mini last July.
