Samsung could be unveiling the Galaxy Note 9 in early August.

Sources told Bloomberg that Samsung plans to hold its "Unpacked" event in New York on 9 August. The South Korean company also aims to launch the Galaxy Note 9 in global markets as early as the end of August. The Galaxy Note 9 is said to come with an upgraded camera and run on an improved Qualcomm processor for some markets.

The Korea Herald reported in late May that Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Note 9 in late July for multiple reasons such as the poor sales of the Galaxy S9 phones. The Investor claimed in March that the launch is either in July or August.

It is unclear at the moment whether Samsung will bring in-display fingerprint sensor to the Galaxy Note 9; former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo backtracked his earlier prediction and said that the highly anticipated feature is dropped due to "technological difficulties".
