Samsung Announces the Galaxy S4 Zoom with 16MP Camera and 10X Optical Zoom (Updated!)

Samsung today announced the fourth member of its Galaxy S4 family - the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the first smartphone to offer 10x optical zoom.
Designed to deliver the best of both worlds (a high performance phone and a high-end compact camera), the Galaxy S4 Zoom is equipped with the new Zoom Ring, a physical feature that allows you to quickly access the camera in the midst of a phone call if you see something that you must share with the other party.
The Zoom Ring will activate the In-Call Photo Share feature, where you take a photo and send it directly via MMS to the other party. The Galaxy S4 Zoom also comes with camera-centric features such as Quick Launch and Shortcuts so that you will have instant access to multiple camera modes.
Sporting a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, a built-in Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) and Xenon flash, Samsung claims that the Galaxy S4 Zoom allows you to take high quality photos in all light conditions. The device also gives you access to a database of images taken by other photographers via Photo Suggest, so that you can find and compose your best shots.

Aside from its camera-centric specs, the Galaxy S4 Zoom runs on a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Similar to the Galaxy S4 mini, the Galaxy S4 Zoom has a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display.
Its internal storage space is 8GB (5GB available out of the box) and has a microSD card slot to support memory cards up to 64GB. It will be available in both 4G LTE and 3G models. Due to the bells and whistles the Galaxy S4 Zoom has, it weighs 208g and measures 15.4mm thick.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will be available in Singapore in Q3 2013, the same time frame as the expected launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Here's a quick look at the Samsung Galaxy S4 family:
