RIM Suffers Further Decline in U.S Smartphone Market Share
RIM appears to be the biggest loser as both Apple and Google's mobile platforms grew at RIM's expense.
Yet another survey on the U.S smartphone market has highlighted the growth of Apple and Google's mobile platforms. Google's Android continues to lead the way with 38.1% of the market, an increase of 5.1%. Apple too had an increase, though at a more modest 1.4%. RIM was the biggest loser, shedding 4.2% while Microsoft has a long road ahead as it too lost 1.9%.
comScore.com - comScore, Inc. today released data from the comScore MobiLens service, reporting key trends in the U.S. mobile phone industry during the three month average period ending May 2011. The study surveyed more than 30,000 U.S. mobile subscribers and found Samsung to be the top handset manufacturer overall with 24.8 percent market share. Google Android led among smartphone platforms with 38.1 percent market share.
