RIM Rejects Allegations on BlackBerry 10 Delays
Research in Motion denied allegations that its co-CEO Mike Lazaridis lied about the reason for the delay of BlackBerry 10 devices. A high-level employee told BGR that the actual reason was buying time as the company did not have a working product at the moment.
Research in Motion (RIM) rebutted allegations that co-CEO Mike Lazaridis lied about the reason for the delay of BlackBerry 10 devices. A high-level RIM employee apparently leaked to BGR that the company was actually buying time as they did not have a working product yet.
According to BGR, the source claimed that RIM continues to face problems integrating BlackBerry 10 with its current network system. He went on further by stating that BlackBerry 10 is not even comparable to iPhone OS 1.0 or Android 2.0, and said that "there is no room for a fourth ecosystem".
Not surprisingly, RIM denied these claims and reiterated its stand that the specific dual-core processor is essential in "delivering the world class user experience" that its customers will expect, and hence will not launch the BlackBerry devices until they are ready.
RIM - "As explained on our earnings call, the broad engineering impact of this decision and certain other factors significantly influenced the anticipated timing for the BlackBerry 10 devices. The anonymous claim suggesting otherwise is inaccurate and uninformed."
The BlackBerry 10 saga comes on the heels of a recent report by Wall Street Journal suggesting that Microsoft and Nokia are considering a joint bid to acquire RIM.
