Todd Wood, the senior vice president of Industrial Design at Research in Motion (RIM) shared his thoughts during an exclusive interview with Pocket-lint on the upcoming phones in 2012, which he summed up with three words: "charming, whimsical and fun".

Wood went on to talk about how the design team travel around the world to different locations to get inspiration when creating a new and perfect range of products. For example, the team went to Bellagio, Itay to get inspiration when designing the BlackBerry 7 OS phones. As for the 2012's line up, the team had a design workshop in Malmo, Sweden.

Could Wood be teasing us with the design of the upcoming BBX phones which are expected to be launched sometime in 2012? It seems likely as Alec Saunders, RIM's Vice President of Developer Relations and Ecosystem Development revealed a week ago that the BBX phones will look very different from the current Bold Series
