Industry sources told Business Korea that pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 handsets shot through the roof in just two days with a total of 550,000 units. It easily smashed through the previous records set by the Galaxy Note7 (400,000 units) and the Galaxy S7 (at least 5.5x more).
Consumers in South Korea seem to have looked past the Galaxy Note7 saga and embraced the latest flagship phones from Samsung. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be available globally from 21 April. They will be available for purchase in Singapore from 29 April.
