OPPO's Reno13 series goes on sale in Singapore on 4 January

OPPO's next-generation flagship-lite phones, the Reno13 series, will be available in local retail stores starting 4 January 2025.

Powering the OPPO Reno13 series is the world's first customised MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, which is built on a 4nm process and comes with an 8-core CPU configuration with clock speeds of up to 3.35GHz. 

Compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy on the Reno12 series, OPPO says the Dimensity 8350 will deliver a 20% boost in performance while lowering peak power consumption by 30%, 

To keep the phones running optimally, OPPO equipped both models with an AI Multi-Cooling System that has an expanded vapour chamber (VC). The AI Adaptive Temperature Control algorithm dynamically adjusts the temperature for consistent performance during intensive gaming sessions.

In terms of design, the OPPO Reno13 series sports a one-piece sculpted glass back cover which has a dual-texture finish to minimise fingerprints while offering an upmarket feel alongside improved dust and water resistance (IP69 rating).

The chassis consists of an aerospace-grade aluminium frame that OPPO says will offer up to 36% better resistance to bending and drop resistance compared to plastic frames.

The OPPO Reno13 series has a 1.5K OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and is certified for HDR10+, Amazon HD/HDR, and Netflix HD/HDR. The Reno13 Pro 5G has a slightly bigger 6.83-inch screen while the Reno13 5G is equipped with a 6.59-inch display.

Photography enthusiasts will be glad to know that the OPPO Reno13 series are the only phones in their category to have a dedicated underwater mode which enables underwater shooting at a maximum depth of 2m for up to 30 minutes. 

Consumers do not need to get an external waterproof casing or accessory for the Reno13 series, and there is a one-tap drainage mechanism to expel water from the phone in seconds.

The camera hardware on the Reno13 series is no slouch. The Reno13 Pro 5G comes with a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 50MP f/2.8 telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera which supports 4K video recording. 

The Reno13 5G has camera specs similar to the Pro model. However, it has a 2MP f/2.4 monochrome camera instead of a telephoto camera.

There are also AI tools to enhance photography on the Reno13 series. AI Clarity Enhancer helps to sharpen distant scenery so that landscapes and architectural details appear clear. AI Unblur reduces camera shake for more in-focused shots while AI Reflection Remover minimises glass reflections. Finally, AI Motion uses generative AI technology to add micro-motion effects or timelapse animations to transform still photos into three-second videos at near-2K quality.

OPPO is the first Android manufacturer to support AI Livephoto and document sharing with the iPhone. The Reno13 series has the new Tap-to-Share feature, which allows direct sharing of Livephotos with iOS devices (NFC-enabled), and O+ Connect for document sharing across Android and iOS.

Other specs of the Reno13 series include Bluetooth 5.4 LE, ColorOS 15.0 based on Android 15, support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, 5,600mAh battery (Reno13 5G), 5,800mAh (Reno13 Pro 5G), and USB Type-C. 

Availability and pricing

The OPPO Reno13 series will be available for purchase in Singapore from 4 January at the three main telcos (M1, StarHub, Singtel), OPPO Concept Stores, the official OPPO website, OPPO Online Flagship Stores on Amazon, iShopChangi, KrisShop, Lazada, Shopee, TikTok and Zalora, major consumer electronic stores, and other authorised retailers.

The Reno13 5G (12GB RAM + 512GB storage) comes in Plum White and Luminous Blue, and is priced at S$799. The Reno 13 Pro 5G (12GB RAM + 512GB storage) is available in Plum Purple and Graphite Grey, and costs S$999. There are several promotions for the local launch of the Reno13 series:
