Oppo partners Hasselblad to further develop the Find series' smartphone camera technologies.
Oppo today (16 February 2022) announced that it embarked on a three-year partnership with Hasselblad to co-develop its camera technologies for the Find series flagship phones.
This seemed like an expected development, given how Hasselblad previously partnered OnePlus before the sub-brand was fully merged with its sister company, Oppo.
“Following the collaborative success of OnePlus and Hasselblad in the past year, we are very pleased to see the partnership enter a new stage of development, giving more users around the world a chance to enjoy the legendary Hasselblad mobile imaging experience. Camera colour performance has always been a key focus for Oppo and a part of Hasselblad’s DNA. We are very excited to be able to explore the future of Hasselblad Camera for Mobile together,” said Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer, Oppo.
Oppo said that the collaboration will start with software improvements to promote natural colour tuning, so it’s not likely we’ll get Hasselblad components inside Oppo phones, much in the same style as the OnePlus 9. The partnership announcement added that Hasselblad camera tuning will come to Oppo Find phones as early as its 2022 flagship phone series.
