Oppo has developed a 10x lossless optical zoom smartphone camera module

Oppo has revealed that it is developing a smartphone camera system with a 10x lossless zoom lens. The camera module will have optical stabilization and a 15.9 to 159mm zoom equivalent, giving it range from an ultrawide focal length all the way up to a medium telephoto.

Oppo actually demonstrated a similar 5x zoom camera two years ago at MWC 2017, but that phone was never commercially released. However, this time around, Oppo claims that the 10x lossless zoom technology meets commercial standards and is ready for mass production.

OPPO will showcase the technology in Barcelona at MWC 2019.
