While most phone makers watch helplessly as tipsters leak information on their upcoming devices, Oppo decided to take things into its own hands.

According to GSMArena, Oppo apparently had enough of the rumors surrounding its upcoming R7 smartphone and offered a set of official renders of the device. The official renders put to rest much of the speculation on the R7.

Leaks so far had suggested that the R7 would come with a bezel-less display with curved edges. This is not the case; the renders reveal that the R7 will sport a normal-looking display with some bezels and 2.5D glass.

The R7 could possibly take a shot at the crown for being the thinnest smartphone as it is shown to have a rather slim design. It also could come with a metal frame and a glass back. What's worth noting is the fact that the rear camera is not protruding unlike the other slim flagship smartphones. The R7 could also be the first Oppo smartphone to have a physical home button.

GSMArena also claimed that the promotional materials made mention of the VOOC fast-charging technology that is featured in the R7, though there was no information on other specs such as the processor and screen size.

Oppo Singapore posted a teaser on its Facebook Page yesterday where it states that the R7 is coming. With April coming to an end soon, it is likely that Oppo will unveil the R7 sometime next month.
