Oppo announces 150W SuperVOOC fast charging, coming to a OnePlus phone in Q2

Oppo's new 150W fast-charging technology can charge a 4,500mAh battery from 1% to 50% in 5 minutes!

Oppo just unveiled its 150W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022.

According to the company, it is able to charge a 4,500mAh battery from 1% to 50% in just 5 minutes, and to 100% in 15 minutes! Oppo also shared that the 150W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology will debut in a OnePlus phone in Q2.

The 150W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology is compatible with other fast-charging standards such as Power Delivery (PD) and Quick Charge (QC), however it will not be able to charge at full speed.

To allay fears about fast charging effects on the battery, Oppo says the battery should maintain as much as 80% of its rated capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. This is possible via its "Battery Health Engine" (BHE) technology.
