OPPO's new budget A60 smartphone with Snapdragon 680, 6.7-inch 90Hz display, and 50MP camera is S$299

OPPO has announced the local availability and pricing of its newest A series smartphone, the OPPO A60.
The budget A60 is powered by the 6nm Snapdragon 680 chip and features 8GB of RAM. The OPPO A60 comes with 256GB of internal storage and features the RAM Expansion technology. It can increase the amount of RAM by up to 8GB temporarily from unused ROM memory allowing for a smoother user experience. The storage can be expanded via a microSDXC card slot.
The OPPO A60 is fueled by a 5,000mAh battery and uses OPPO's 45W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology which OPPO claims to charge the phone to 50% in just 30 minutes.
The battery powers a 6.67-inch LCD display (1604 x 720 pixels resolution) that has 950 nits of peak brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate.

In terms of cameras, the A60 has an 8MP selfie camera and a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50MP wide camera and a 2MP portrait camera for close-up shots. The OPPO A60 will have features such as portrait mode, AI portrait retouching and Dual-view video allowing you to fully utilise both cameras simultaneously.
Something new on the OPPO A60 phone is the splash touch feature that enables the touchscreen to work accurately when wet, such as in the rain or after hand washing.

The OPPO A60 will face stiff competition from the Poco C65. The C65 uses a MediaTek Helio G85 chip but also has a 6.7-inch display, 6GB or 8GB of memory, a large 5,000mAh baattery, and a 50MP main camera. However, it's even cheaper with prices start at S$169. You can find out more about it here.

The OPPO A60 will be available to buy starting 1st May at S$299. It comes in two colours: Ripple Blue and Midnight Purple.
