OnePlus Open foldable gets blood-red Apex Edition, adopts some OPPO Find X7 Ultra features
The colour is inspired by its Hasselblad collaboration and its own logo.

OnePlus has announced a special, limited-edition variant of its OnePlus Open book-style foldable, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition.
As seen on its OnePlus Community forum, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition comes in a unique Crimson Shadow colourway and vegan leather texture. It’s based on two designs: OnePlus’s signature colour in its logo and Hasselblad’s iconic medium-format film camera, the 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition.
The main differences between the regular OnePlus Open and the Apex Edition aren’t much, but they can be meaningful to some users. The Apex Edition has more UFS 4.0 storage at 1TB and already ships with OPPO’s generative AI perks like AI Eraser and AI Smart Cutout.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition also has an OPPO Find X7 Ultra feature called VIP Mode (it’s called VIP Slider on the Find X7 Ultra). Instead of simply silencing notifications and ringtones when you flick the foldable’s Alert Slider, the dedicated security chip also disables microphones, cameras, advertisement tracking, location tracking, and slaps on chip-layer encryption. Essentially, it’s like locking down your OnePlus Open Apex Edition with a physical button.
While it’s understandable that the OnePlus Open did not come to Singapore since it’s an OPPO Find N3 under a different name, this Apex Edition seems like a pleasant fan-tribute piece that’s interesting and different enough to excite both OPPO and OnePlus users here.
The OnePlus Open Apex Edition (16GB+1TB) is officially available in India at INR149,999 and in the US at S$1,899.99 (~S$2,514.30). Plans to bring the phone to the European market are underway, but no specific timeline has been given. We’ll update you if OnePlus chooses to bring the phone to Singapore.
