OnePlus just announced a new battery technology that could revolutionise smartphone battery life.
Developed in collaboration with Chinese battery maker CATL, OnePlus claims its Glacier battery can retain at least 80% of its original capacity, even after four years of regular use.
In addition, OnePlus says the Glacier battery can store 23.1% more energy than standard graphite batteries, offer faster charging, and a stable voltage.
The Glacier battery, which has a 6,100mAh capacity, supports 100W fast charging, which means it can be charged from 1% to 100% in just 36 minutes. It will debut on the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro.
OnePlus' Glacier battery technology could solve several long-standing issues such as battery size, battery anxiety, constant charging, and wear and tear. It could also reduce our dependence on power banks.
It could also revolutionise battery life for future smartphones by bringing more powerful batteries in smaller sizes.
