While Samsung USA is offering customers a rebate of US$120 for buying the Galaxy S6/S6 edge/S6 edge+/Note 5 or an additional US$100 on Google Play for trading in their iPhones, OnePlus is offering a similar program for its "2016 flagship killer" phone.
In partnership with non-profit organization Hope Phones, OnePlus is offering owners of a Samsung flagship phone (the Galaxy S6/S6 edge/S6 edge+/Note 5) a chance to trade in their phone for the OnePlus 2. Samsung phones which are traded in will be donated to Hope Phones to help people in remote areas get "fast, efficient and professional medical care". However, there are several things to note about this trade-on program:
- Only 50 winners will be selected.
- Application will close on 18th October.
- You have to use #TakeTheEdgeOff on social media and fill out an online application form to enter.
- If you are selected as a winner, OnePlus will contact you with further instructions.
To be honest, it doesn't make any sense for owners of the Galaxy S6/S6 edge/S6 edge+/Note 5 to trade in their phones (which are more expensive) for the OnePlus 2 which costs S$598. If you are still interested to trade in any of the above phone model for the OnePlus 2, do check out our review of the OnePlus 2.
