Phone makers have been trying hard over the past few years to achieve a "bezel-less" design for their devices and it seems that a Chinese phone maker has finally nailed it.

China-based Nubia unveiled its flagship smartphone for this year, the nubia Z9 which sports a visually "borderless" 5.2-inch Full-HD display. Using arc Refractive Conduction (aRC) technology, Nubia claims the Z9 offers better visual effects than rivals of its class. The company also boasts that users will find it easier to hold the Z9 as it is more ergonomic.

Besides the aesthetics element, Nubia also incorporated a more interactive way for users to control their phones via the display. Dubbed the Frame interactive Technology (FiT), the nubia Z9 enables users to control the phone via grip and gesture-based control on the edge of the display. Here are some use cases:

These control enhancements are stated by Nubia to reduce the average smartphone process by 2.7 steps when compared to conventional smartphones. Third party developers are also welcome to tap into FiT to incorporate such gestures into their apps.

As a flagship smartphone, the nubia Z9 comes with an impressive list of specs such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, nubia 3.0 UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, a 16-megapixel, f/2.0 rear camera with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel, f/2.4 wide-angle front-facing camera, a non-removable 2,900mAh battery, LTE (both TD and FDD) support, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. There is no mention of a memory card slot.

The nubia Z9 measures 147.4 x 68.3 x 8.9mm and weighs 192g. It comes in three different models: classic with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (3,499 yuan), elite with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (3,999 yuan), and an exclusive edition with a fingerprint sensor (4,499 yuan).
