Carl Pei’s Nothing company will launch a variant of its budget Nothing handset, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, on 31 July.
According to leaks by Smartprix and Nothing, the phone will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC and will come in two RAM configurations (8GB and 12GB). Nothing said that the octa-core processor will be about 10% faster overall than the original Nothing Phone (2a) and that the G610 MC4 GPU will make it 30% faster at graphically intensive tasks.
Despite its “Plus” moniker, the phone is reported to maintain the same display size as its predecessor, the Phone (2a). The new model will be available in two colour options, Grey and Black, and is said to feature a slightly different finish compared to the original Phone (2a).

One of the more notable upgrades in the Phone (2a) Plus is an improved selfie camera. The front-facing camera is now a 50 MP sensor, up from its original 32MP, which should result in higher-quality selfies and video calls. To power it all, the charging capacity has reportedly been increased to 50W (up from 45W), potentially offering faster charging times for users.
The Phone (2a) Plus would pack 256GB of storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and other data.
While these upgrades are enhancements over the original Phone (2a), the changes are minor. The "Plus" designation focuses primarily on internal upgrades rather than significant physical or design changes. In the meantime, check out our review of the original Nothing Phone (2a) here.
