Note7 users may get discount when upgrading to the Galaxy S8 or Note8
Samsung may be considering a new compensation program for Galaxy Note7 users where they can get discounts for a future purchase of the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note8.
Although Samsung has rolled out exchange and refund programs around the world, the Korean company is said to be considering a new compensation initiative to pacify angry customers who have filed lawsuits.
The Korea Herald reports that Samsung may give cash discounts for Galaxy Note7 users for their future purchase of the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy Note8. This new initiative is also likely to encourage Galaxy Note7 users who refused to return their devices as they cannot find a good alternative.
Samsung's mobile sales team leader Kim Jin-hae is reportedly in talks with ICT Minister Choi Yang-hee to come up with various measures to minimize the financial impact after the company ended production of the Galaxy Note7.
