Multi-window feature hidden in the Developer Preview of Android M

A Reddit user who was toying around with the Developer Preview of Android M stumbled upon a multi-window feature. This raises the possibility that Google may introduce a multi-window feature in Android M later this year.

Google announced several new features in Android M, but it might have (intentionally) left out one key feature, multi-window which was found hidden in the Developer Preview.

According to a Reddit user, the multi-window feature on the Developer Preview was enabled through a series of complicated steps. While he was able to enable the feature and took a screenshot, he found it to be rather buggy.

Stock Android has always been lagging behind the customized interfaces of the Android vendors in terms of useful features. If you recall, Samsung is the first Android vendor to implement the multi-window feature on its devices starting with the Galaxy Note II in 2012. The feature was then implemented by other Android vendors such as LG and Huawei.

Android M also has several unannounced new features such as the ability to automatically backup app data, the flexibility in customizing Quick Settings tiles and classifying SD cards as internal storage. Well, we just can't wait for the official launch of Android M in Q3 to see its full list of new features!
