Motorola's WebTop 3.0 Software Launches Android 4.0 RAZR in Tablet Mode
The new Motorola WebTop 3.0 software update will display an ICS tablet mode when a Lapdock is connected to one of their Android 4.0 devices, Droid-Life reports.
Motorola has cleverly followed in the footsteps of the upcoming ASUS Padfone. Previously, the Motorola Lapdock will connect to a Linux desktop OS once a compatible Motorola smartphone is plugged in, as seen in our Motorola Atrix review. However, the new WebTop 3.0 software update will instead display an ICS tablet mode when connected to one of their Android 4.0 devices. This will certainly add value to both Motorola Lapdocks and their Android 4.0 running devices.
BGR - Features like Face Unlock seem to have made the cut, and although a bit buggy (some apps aren’t compatible with the full screen tablet, er — WebTop mode), you can see the utility in having both a phone OS and tablet OS at your fingertips.
Droid-Life - Through this brief clip, you can see that the mini-phone view on the left side is gone, Firefox is no longer the default browser, you have an app drawer, notifications in the bottom right, navigation buttons in the bottom left, and everything else you would expect from a tablet experience.
