MediaTek's Dimensity 1080 chip comes with 200MP camera support
The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset is the successor to the Dimensity 920.
MediaTek just announced its latest 5G chipset, the Dimensity 1080.
Dubbed as the successor to the Dimensity 920, the 6nm Dimensity 1080 has an upgraded octa-core CPU with two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores operating at up to 2.6GHz, an ARM Mali-G68 GPU and integrated AI processing unit 3.0 (APU 3.0).
The Dimensity 1080 also has support for a 200MP main camera and a hardware-accelerated HDR video recording engine for processing up to 4K resolution. Other specs include support for sub-6GHz 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
MediaTek says smartphones powered by the Dimensity 1080 will hit the market by Q4 2022.
