MediaTek unveils new Dimensity 800U chipset with dual 5G SIM support

MediaTek just announced the third chipset of its 800-series processor, the Dimensity 800U. 

The Dimensity 800U is built on the 7nm process and has an octa-core CPU with a dual cluster of two ARM Cortex-A76 processors (clock speed of 2.4GHz) and six ARM-Cortex-A55 processors (clock speed of 2.0GHz). It also has an integrated ARM Mali-G57 GPU, an independent AI processing unit and LPDDRx RAM. 

Its integrated 5G modem supports sub-6GHz SA and NSA networks, 5G+5G dual SIM dual standby (DSDS), dual Voice over New Radio (VoNR) and 5G two carrier aggregation (2CC 5G-CA). 

Other specs include support for 120Hz FHD+ displays, HDR10+, flexible camera placement with up to 64MP cameras and quad-camera capabilities, voice on wakeip (VoW) and dual-mic noise reduction technology.
