MediaTek unveils 64-bit octa-core MT6753 mobile processor at MWC 2015

MediaTek today unveiled the MT6753 at Mobile World Congress 2015. It is a 64-bit octa-core mobile processor with support for WorldMode modem capability. Read on to find out more.

 

 

Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek today unveiled the MT6753, which is a 64-bit octa-core mobile processor with support for WorldMode modem capability and designed specifically for the mid-range market segment.

The MT6753 processor consists of 8 ARM Cortex A53 64-bit processors and a Mali-T720 GPU to deliver great multimedia experiences without compromising on battery efficiency. MediaTek also claims that the MT6753 also reduces time to market for handset makers as it simplifies product development and manages product differentiation in a more cost effective manner. 

Other key features of the MT6753 include MediaTek's  CorePilot multi-processor technology for a perfect balance of performance and power in mainstream mobile devices, support for low-power, 1080p, 30fps video playback on video codec standard H.265 and legacy H.264 and 1080p, 30fps H.264 video recording, support for integrated 16MP camera image signal processor and CAT 4 FDD and TDD LTE.

MediaTek states that the MT6753 is sampling to customers at the moment and consumers can expect the first commercial devices to be available in Q2 this year.
